Abstract

The yield-per-recruit analysis of the hamoor, Epinephelus tauvina (Forsskal, 1775) stock showed that this fishery is exploited at an appropriate level. However, a higher age at first capture would optimize the maximum yield-per-recruit of this fish stock at the current level of fishing mortality. The mean size at first maturity was bigger than the present size at first capture.
